Cary Ballet Company features the full-length ballet, Coppélia. This fable is a charming story about the dollmaker Dr. Coppélius and his creation, Coppélia. She is so beautiful, so lifelike as she sits in his window reading a book. No one will suspect she is a mechanical doll. Villager Franz is captivated by her beauty and wants to meet her. But his fiancée Swanhilda wants to show Franz who Coppélia really is. Swanhilda hatches a plan to reclaim his love to marry him after the ceremonial dedication of the town clock.
